What This Blog Is All About

I need to be healthier. Badly. Individual efforts have not sufficed, so I'm hoping the support of friends, family, and anyone who happens along this blog can help me along.

Exercise Log through November 30, 2009

Yep I've been gone a long time. I don't know exactly what will happen, but I'd like to make a push to at least be more active this last month to see what I can raise for the Buffaloe Scholarship. Thank you to anyone who sees this for sticking with me.

September 10: Played basketball. Lots of fun but ended up with 2 giant blisters under the big toe of each foot. They literally knocked me off my feet for a few days and then kept me from even trying any activity for a couple weeks.
October 11: Football game at the Jones family reunion. Actually ran, blocked, and only knocked one person to the ground (unlike high school sophomore Morgan, who leveled her dad's uncle at full speed)
October 13-16: Disneyworld was at least 2 miles of walking a day in the kind of humidity that results in a layer of sweat rather than beads.
October 25: Walked 2 miles at the Rec Center.
October 31: Walked 3 miles around Lake Pflugerville.
November 11 and 18: I joined my company's dodgeball team! Lots of fun.
November 25 and 27: During a family Thanksgiving in Bastrop, I took 2 longish walks/hikes. I'm counting them as 2 miles each to include all the other walking around the resort.
November 30: Walked 4 miles at the Rec Center.

Exercise Log August 8, 2009

Biked 8 miles this morning to the nearest 7-11. Unfortunately I got a flat on the way back so I didn't complete the 10 miles. On the plus side, I conquered the hill of AW Grimes going north from 45 - didn't put my feet down the whole trip except as required by traffic.

Also walked 1 mile tonight with the wife, Beth, and Beth's 3-month-old daughter Penelope. Strollers are short little things - do I get extra credit for pushing it along?
